Ultra Violet Light Treatment

The benefits of Ultra Violet Light Treatment are that UV light therapy is effective for reducing or clearing up the symptoms of psoriasis and other scalp conditions.

An estimated 75 percent of people using narrow-band ultraviolet B (UVB) therapy, which is the most common type, will develop clear scalps. UV has been shown in numerous medical studies to be a safe and effective method of managing affected scalp conditions.

The treatment process would generally be an initial ten minutes, twice per week for six weeks, then once weekly for six months, reviewing the regrowth levels. Depending upon the severity of hair loss, if sudden onset, for example; the probability of success with electrotherapy treatments has proved beneficial in a great number of cases.

Although, this does not apply to every single case, it is the expected prognosis when caught immediately. The best option for each patient will always be recommended after an initial consultation, so that treatment can begin swiftly and the best outcome for the patient achieved.

Yes UV treatments are safe. We also use UV to treat Psoriasis and Scalp Eczema. 

The results are mostly encouraging, however, prognosis is dependent upon the initial cause of the condition.

The long term effects of the treatment can vary depending on the severity of the condition.
